VANA was founded in a collaboration between the Danish Agriculture & Food Council (Landbrug & Fødevarer), DagSam (The Grocery Industry’s Cooperation Committee), the Danish Chamber of Commerce (Dansk Erhverv) and the Confederation of Danish Industry (Dansk Industri) to make it as easy and cheap as possible for Danish companies to comply with the producer responsibility for packaging.

The 4 strong trade associations anchor VANA broadly among their respective members, which covers approximately 80% of the companies affected by the producer responsibility for packaging.
Therefore, our founders also actively support VANA as a not-for-profit Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) that can fulfil the legal, financial, and practical obligations of the Danish producers and importers regarding the extended producer responsibility on packaging in Denmark.
