At VANA, we handle the vast majority of packaging volumes in Denmark — therefore it is important to choose the right partners!
We have agreements with competent suppliers who handle the packaging responsibly and professionally. Because it does matter how packaging waste is handled. At VANA, we operate according to a proximity and quality principle that ensures packaging waste is only sent to the best sorting and recycling facilities in Denmark and our neighboring countries.
There, the experts achieve the highest possible recycling for each fraction - whether it is plastic, metal, glass, cardboard or food and beverage cartons. After treatment, what remains are piles of recycled material that can be used as resources in the production of new products and materials - thereby giving them new life.
VANA's agreements for treatment
At VANA, we set high requirements for our agreements for treatment, which, among other things, include high actual recycling, a focus on circular recycling, traceability and documentation, certification of sorting and recycling facilities, as well as waste treatment in the EU/EEA until end-of-waste. We have agreements with:
Environmental targets for the fractions
- Sorting of all plastic in Denmark
- Raw materials for Danish plastic producers
- Minimum 70% sorted for recycling
- Minimum 60% actual recycling of plastic
- Expansion of reuse solution for bottles
- Rinsing and refilling of bottles in Denmark
- Treatment of all glass in Denmark
- Requirement for a minimum of 70% circular recycling
- Requirement for a minimum of 70% circular recycling
- More gentle handling of the glass and better utilisation
