VANA ready with a simple solution for compensation for commercial waste
When the producer responsibility for packaging enters into force on October 1, companies will also have to pay for the collection, sorting, and treatment of the packaging that ends up as commercial waste. In practice, this means that the waste-producing companies are responsible for ensuring that the waste is handled correctly – this typically happens by transferring it to private waste collectors.
VANA eliminates administrative hassle
At VANA, we know that simplicity makes a difference. That’s why we are ready with a solution that will make it easier for waste-producing companies to apply for compensation. Instead of having to manage the administration themselves, companies can do it directly through their waste collector, who will then apply for compensation from VANA on their behalf. This saves time, reduces hassle, and provides financial security.
Available from November 1st
If you are a waste-producing company, starting November 1st, you can apply for compensation for the portion of your waste that consists of packaging. The compensation must be requested from the producer responsibility organisation (PRO) that has been assigned the fraction in the municipality where the company is located (at the p-number level).
How it works
Companies (VANA's members) pay the producer responsibility organisation for the packaging they place on the market.
- Companies that generate commercial waste can receive compensation for costs related to the collection and treatment of commercial packaging waste.
- The compensation can be paid directly to the company or to the waste collector if they apply on behalf of their customers.
