What are the prices for membership and registration?
Start-up contribution
A membership at VANA costs a one-time fee for setup of 530 EUR (A membership at VANA costs 265 EUR for companies under the triviality limit). You will receive an invoice via email when you join.
Registration fee to Dansk Producentansvar (DPA)
When your company is registered with the Dansk Producentansvar (DPA) via VANAs Member Portal, you will receive an invoice with a registration fee directly from DPA in the company’s digital mailbox.
Authorised Representative
When using VANA as the authorised representative, an annual service contribution of 5000 DKK is charged. The amount is invoiced annually, at the end of January.
Costs - handling of packaging
The total costs for handling packaging will consist of:
To VANA:
- ongoing payment for handling packaging waste from the producer responsibility enters into force organisationally on the (from 1st of October 2025) - find VANA's prices. Read more about waste treatment.
- annual base contribution of 1000 DKK (500 DKK in 2025).
To the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):
- annual fee that covers supervision of companies' compliance with regulations, analysis of the content of packaging in waste fractions, as well as awareness-raising measures.
- the fee in 2025 is set at 25 DKK per ton of packaging waste (based on the 2024 batch reporting of quantities) and will be collected after August 15 with a 14-day payment deadline; read more about the producer responsibility for packaging on the Danish Environmental Protection Agency's website.
- the fee for 2026 will be 0.018 DKK per kilogram packaging waste* according to the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (Danish)
*The fee has been calculated in October 2025 with reservations for change as a result of a coming political agreement.
To Dansk Producentansvar (DPA):
- annual fee that covers the administration of the distribution of responsibility for packaging waste to individual companies, guidance on reporting, and determination of whether companies are covered by producer responsibility
- the fee in 2025 is 74.67 DKK per ton of packaging waste (based on the 2024 batch reporting of quantities). The fee will be collected by Dansk Producentansvar (DPA) from August 20, 2025, with a 14-day payment deadline. Read more about fees and invoicing on Dansk Producentansvar's website.
How do I pay?
Members must report actual available quantities continuously to VANA per month (over 8 tons) or per quarter (under 8 tons) and will be invoiced based on this. The payment deadline is 30 days from the invoice date.
Members of VANA are not required to pay in advance or as an advance payment. VANA provides a guarantee on behalf of our members.
This means the first payment will be collected in November 2025 and January 2026, respectively.
Costs - handling of single-use plastic products
The total costs for handling single-use plastic products consist of:
- fee to the Environmental Protection Agency for clean up and awareness obligation based on reported quantities (paid to DPA quarterly)
- base contribution for administration to VANA of 1000 DKK/year
- annual administration fee to DPA (semi-annually in 2025).

VANA is working to be able to handle the payment obligation, so all invoices will come from VANA. More information will follow when this is implemented.

Our mission is to be the preferred producer responsibility organisation (PRO) for producer responsibility in Denmark by managing our members' producer responsibility in an environmentally responsible, administratively simple, and cost-effective manner.
This means that you, as members, do not incur unnecessary costs, which makes it far more economical, efficient, and less bureaucratic for individual businesses to be a member of VANA, than if everyone had to handle their own packaging throughout the entire recycling process.
