InFACT - circular value chain for flexible plastic packaging
The InFACT project (Infrastructure for the Flexible plastic Packaging Circular Transition) will build a circular value chain for flexible plastic packaging. The project aims to take household collected plastic from the trash can to new packaging - including for food. With InFACT, one of the most challenging plastic fractions will be turned into a real raw material for new packaging.

InFACT will demonstrate how household collected flexible plastic packaging can be transformed into new packaging in a cohesive value chain. The partners represent the entire value chain - from collection and sorting to recycling, packaging production, and food businesses.

Facts about the InFACT project:

  • The project runs from 2026 to 2028

  • The budget amounts to 24 million DKK

  • The project will demonstrate a circular infrastructure where flexible plastic packaging is transformed into new packaging

  • The results will form the basis for scaling up and contribute to realising the EU's packaging requirements in practice

CRISP project - Circular Recycling of rigid plastic
The CRISP Project (Circular Recycling Innovation for Sustainable Packaging) aims to contribute to the implementation of a circular plastic economy in Denmark and set new standards for recycling food packaging internationally.

This will include establishing and demonstrating solutions within circular recycling of hard plastics from household-sorted food packaging. With a budget of nearly 20 million DKK, the CRISP Project has the ambition to enable:

  • annual recycling of more than 30,000 tonnes of Danish plastic waste

  • annual savings of more than 44,200 tonnes of oil equivalents

  • 92% reduction compared to the production of virgin plastic
