Get help with the PPWR in a new guide to designing plastic packaging

With the upcoming EU packaging and packaging waste regulation, companies will increasingly have to be able to document their plastic packaging as recyclable in order to continue placing it on the market. A number of VANA's partners in the European EXPRA collaboration have developed the guide "No Regrets" to help and inspire preparations — access it here.

News 11 May 2026

The requirements for plastic packaging will be gradually tightened when the EU's PPWR comes into force in August 2026 and in the period up to 2030. Although many details are still being developed and will be implemented gradually towards 2030, the direction is clear: plastic packaging must increasingly be designed so that it can be sorted, recycled at material level and enter new material streams.

A number of VANA's partners in the European EXPRA collaboration have developed the guide "No Regrets". The guide can be a useful aid for preparations for the PPWR requirements. It provides both inspiration and concrete recommendations on how you can design plastic packaging with recycling in mind.

If you are a member of VANA, you can get access to the guide and thereby gain good inspiration and concrete recommendations to get well under way or to continue preparations for the requirements of the PPWR.
