New catalogue makes eco-modulation more manageable
VANA has developed a new catalogue with specific examples of eco-modulation of packaging to make the work with eco-modulation more manageable.
The catalogue contains 39 different examples and covers all types of packaging materials. The examples are based on fictional packaging and are based on the statutory order on packaging as well as the guidance from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
VANA's members can use the catalogue as a practical reference work, and it can help ensure a better basis for working with eco-modulation.

The catalogue will be continuously updated with new examples and new knowledge as legislation and guidance in the area further fall into place.

An important part of producer responsibility
The purpose of eco-modulation is to promote a more circular economy, where resources are used better, and where packaging is designed to be more easily recyclable and made into new materials.
Therefore, eco-modulation also includes a financial incentive: Packaging that is easier to recycle can provide the company with better conditions regarding the fees associated with producer responsibility.
It remains the responsibility of each individual company to eco-modulate its own packaging correctly according to the rules. The catalogue should thus be seen as a practical tool that hopefully can make the work easier and more specific.
