Kristian Hundebøll is the new chairman of the board in VANA A/S
VANA A/S gets a new chairman of the board, when Kristian Hundebøll takes over the chairmanship from Karin Klitgaard today, Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Kristian Hundebøll comes with extensive experience from both Danish industry and the green transition. For several years, he has held leading positions in companies focused on sustainability, circular economy, and corporate social responsibility. He was CEO at DLG from 2013 to 2024. Today, he holds a number of board positions.
The board change takes place at a time when the producer responsibility on packaging has been in operation for over 8 months. As a producer responsibility organisation (PRO), VANA plays a central role in building the systems and collaborations necessary to ensure effective and environmentally responsible handling of packaging waste in Denmark.
VANA has quickly established itself as a serious and respected player in a field of great importance to both businesses, municipalities, and the green transition. I look forward to working together with the board, management, and employees to contribute to the further development of the organization and the solutions that will support producer responsibility in Denmark.

The outgoing chairman Karin Klitgaard, deputy director in Danish Industry, has led VANA since its early start in 2021, through the crucial establishment and development phase of the producer responsibility organisation (PRO).
”Karin has made a very significant effort to create a strong foundation for VANA along with the other board members from the 4 founding organisations,” says Kristian Hundebøll, and continues: ”I am glad that she continues as vice-chairman of the board, ensuring knowledge and continuity.”

In connection with the change of chairman, John Wagner (formerly vice-chairman, Dagsam) and Jan Laustsen (Danish Agriculture & Food Council) have left the board, and Charlotte Bigum Lynæs (Danish Agriculture & Food Council) and Jannick Nytoft have joined.
