VANA strengthens the board with 5 strong corporate representatives
VANA A/S has today, in an extraordinary general meeting, expanded the board to 13 members with the addition of 5 business representatives. The practical and concrete experiences with producer responsibility thus come even closer to the board work and strengthen VANA's commercial focus and development of solutions that work in the everyday life of businesses.
The five new board members, who daily work with some of VANA's largest customers, are appointed by the four founding organisations: the Danish Chamber of Commerce, Danish Agriculture & Food Council, DagSam, and Danish Industry.
The expansion of the board is intended to ensure that the business community's operating conditions are even stronger in the work to develop VANA, implement, and manage producer responsibility in Denmark in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
The Danish Chamber of Commerce has appointed Thomas Børglum Jensen, CFO, Salling Group. The Danish Agriculture & Food Council has appointed Søren Helsinghof Olsen, Vice President, Arla Foods. And DagSam has appointed Thomas Roland, Head of Department, Responsibility, COOP. Danish Industry has appointed two representatives: Jesper Møller, CFO, Orkla Denmark, and Camilla Haustrup Hermansen, Dep. CEO, Plus Pack. As part of the change, they will henceforth be represented by one member, Vice Chairman Karin Klitgaard. Jakob Lave is stepping down from the board, while the other three founders will continue with two members from each organisation on the board.
The producer responsibility has a significant influence on companies' operations and costs. Therefore, it is also important that their experiences and business conditions are an integral and direct part of the board's work. The new members bring valuable insights that should help set the direction for VANA's further development.

With the expansion, VANA strengthens its position as a limited company with a clear commercial focus. The goal is to translate knowledge about the companies' needs into effective solutions that make it simple and cost-effective to comply with their producer responsibility while ensuring environmentally responsible waste management. CEO Marianne Roed Jakobsen looks forward to collaborating with the expanded board:
